Mood Board Task

Well as you can see, I'm a beginner photoshopper =P
My focus is definitely performance.. in fact it's my only focus. So I included: a stage, Marilyn Monroe from 'The Seven Year Itch', Johnny Depp in 'Benny and Joon', Leonardo DiCaprio in 'What's Eating Gilbert Grape', Norma Shearer in 'Marie Antoinette' and a Sleepy Hollow image.
I wish to follow the standard of brilliance of all of the actors I've included. They each speak to me on many different levels. I've also included Sleepy Hollow because I love Tim Burton films and to star in one of his movies would be a dream come true.
I might set my sights a little high but it's my dream and I hope to make my dream come to life =)

Brand Task

I believe a lot of people view me as a overtly sexual person into Bondage (BDSM) due to my series of drawings "Bondage Barbie". That sort of became my nickname as people believed it was my alter ego =P

Creativity and Innovation

I am an artist, working mostly with pastels, colored pencils and graphite pencils. I love to dance and I also act, which is what I want to make a career of, so I'm studying Performance art at university. I am very fascinated by human behavior, if I wasn't studying acting I'd most likely be studying forensic psychology.
I met Esther and she discussed why she was taking the university course Creative Arts Industries. She wants to make art that can be seen by everyone, without limitation or censorship, she used to graffiti for that very same reason. I think she would find this quite interesting - http://bluekitchen.files.wordpress.com/2007/05/flamingo.jpg

Could misogyny and homophobia stem from the same place?

A lot of times people who hate male homosexuals tend to have a similar view on women. My blog won't speak on hatred reasoned with religion, and I will focus more on male mentality. This trend seems to be more with certain males, not all men, just some.
To these men, women are objects, as "holes" per se. Women are naturally submissive during sex and men who view this submission as a weakness also have a tendancy to hate gay men. Gay men, to those men who hate them, are all "bottoms". They willingly become "holes", they willingly take this submissive position and these men resent that, tremendously so. These men also tend to, at least, passive aggressively hate women. They may view women as stupid, emotional/crazy, gold diggers etc. Basically with all these reasons to hate them they're dehumanized, they become objects. There's no need to feel bad about using them or treating them badly.
Also with gay men it's almost as if they're betraying their gender, and the men that hate them say it's not natural yet hardly any seem to have a problem with two women. It's because in their head women are sex objects, they're not really human, in a way, there's nothing to be "natural". If it's only natural for a man and woman, then it's only natural for reproduction. Therefore to not be a hypocrite they would have to remove all condoms and forms of contraception and anal sex is out of the question, yet they're not all doing that, because "it's not natural" is just an excuse to hate, not a reason.
This isn't aimed at all men, just men who are homophobic and have tendencies to think of women a certain way. This is just a hypothesis made from observations of the people I've encountered. X

Crazies in the big city

It would appear that the bigger the city, the larger the number of insane people wander the streets. I moved from an outer regional location to a significantly larger city and I noticed more people who seemed out of touch and more unbalanced. But why is that? Why is there such a difference merely from the size and density of population in a city?

Isolation?
There is less human interaction when there is a denser population. People are doing their own thing, minding their own business, it could be intimidating meeting new people, and since the population is so large there's a lack of a "pack". As "pack" animals we lose this sense of stability because our identity comes from experiences, and most of our experiences are with other people and with other people we grow as a person. There seems to be a lot more isolation in larger communities in comparison to a small town where you sneeze and everyone knows it.

Homelessness?
Homeless people suffer so much mentally. They have this complete lack of security and safety, of ownership/belongings, of friendly human interaction, in fact they're mostly ignored. People turn their heads as they walk by a begging person. This falls in with isolation but there's more to put them at risk of insanity. Humans need stability in their life, if they don't have it or they go out of their way to have a complete deficiency of it, it can turn anybody crazy. But why is homelessness a problem in larger cities in Australia? My hypothesis is that real estate and the cost of living is higher, people's presentation (clothing, appearance) is more valued and there seems to be this general apathy towards the homeless. The reason I brought up people's presentation is that it may be used to consider or disregard a prospective employee.

Isolation is a very big factor, I believe, to why there's a greater number of mentally ill people in the cities; although it's quite possible the larger the number the more probability of crazy people.
That's my short blog on my opinion of insanity in the big city X
